1. Information we access

Smart COD Manager is designed to help merchants control when Cash on Delivery appears at checkout. To provide this functionality, the app accesses limited store data needed to configure and run checkout rules.

Depending on how the app is used, this may include:

• Store and app installation details needed for authentication
• Shipping method names used to configure COD rules
• Product identifiers and titles used for product-based rules
• Order identifiers, order totals, currency, and payment method details used for COD analytics
• Checkout configuration data saved by the merchant in the app
• Billing and subscription status related to app access
• Buyer verification email addresses entered during checkout for COD email verification, including masked references and short-lived verification challenge data

2. How we use information

We use accessed information only to operate and support the app.

• Authenticate the app inside the merchant's Shopify store
• Create, save, update, and apply COD rule settings
• Enable checkout logic based on shipping, cart, and product rules
• Generate aggregated COD usage and revenue analytics for the merchant
• Manage free trial and billing access for the installed store
• Send one-time passcodes for COD email verification
• Maintain app performance, reliability, and support operations

3. Customer data

Smart COD Manager is focused on checkout rule control, COD analytics, and optional COD email verification. The app does not use customer data for advertising or unrelated profiling. When COD email verification is enabled, the app collects the verification email address entered by the buyer during checkout. This email address is used only to deliver and validate one-time passcodes for that checkout.

4. Data storage

The app stores the configuration required to operate checkout rules, installation session data, billing-related records, aggregated order analytics, and short-lived COD email verification challenge records needed to operate verification. OTP codes are stored as hashed values rather than plaintext. This information is used only for the operation of Smart COD Manager.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell merchant data. Information accessed by Smart COD Manager is used only to provide app functionality, maintain the app, and support the merchant's use of the service. Data may be processed by infrastructure providers used to host the application and related services.

6. Data retention and deletion

We retain information only for as long as needed to operate the app, maintain records related to billing or support, and comply with legal obligations. When the app is uninstalled, app session records, email verification settings, verification records, and stored COD analytics associated with the store are removed as part of the uninstall flow.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect data used by Smart COD Manager. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to protect information appropriate to the app's functionality.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app, legal requirements, or operational practices. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised last updated date.
